Transfiguration Chapel - Caleruega

We went back to Tagaytay to check out our other options for our church wedding. We booked San Antonio de Padua already but it seems so far away from the reception venues that we want. Our other option is book Caleruega. So we went up to Tagaytay to check it out!

It was a rainy and foggy Saturday afternoon. We could barely see the road going up to Caleruega. It feels like Twilight zone! But when we finally got to the place I felt the "this is it" feeling that I have been waiting for.  This church is definitely a dream wedding location for us. It is surrounded by lush greens and it is the most solemn and scenic place to have our wedding.

If you guys are planning to have your wedding at Caleruega, the use of the chapel is 15,000php, that includes the sacristan, use of organ. To reserve your desired wedding date, a down payment of 5,000php is required.

The Wedding Gown

When we started planning for our wedding the first thing that comes to my mind is my wedding dress. What will I be wearing? Which designer? Will I be wearing a white traditional wedding gown?! Well my answer is definitely NO. I know that a traditional white wedding gown is a must for every bride. But maybe not for me. I have been scouting for wedding gown designs on the internet, we have been to countless bridal fairs and all I see are all white and ivory. So that made me think twice. Since our motif is lavender/lilac/muted gold and white. I decided to wear a lilac wedding gown. My sister used to own a clothing line, It is obvious that she knows how to design clothes. Since I don't want to spend a fortune on my wedding gown, I asked for my sisters help. Below is a draft of my wedding gown

I wanted it to be a lilac gown with muted gold accents. My sister made some changes below and it looked perfect!

When I saw these pictures I was totally excited. Though there will still be changes to be made in the near future, I'm very happy with the design. The length of the gown should touch the floor. My sister made the picture that way so I could see how it looks like with the shoes on.

I hope my sister is done designing the entourage's dresses. I'm pretty much excited about that. I will be posting it here right away. Ciao!

Meet The Lilac Bride

Hi I'm Diane and I am The Lilac Bride. I am getting married on December 5, 2013 and we are pretty much excited. I can't even describe the feeling. Conceptualizing for the perfect wedding is not easy, especially for me because I am very indecisive.

As a little girl, I always imagine my future wedding with a prince charming and getting married in a big and majestic castle with a long white wedding gown and of course a crown.

When I was n high school, I told my friends that I wanted to get married at age 28. Because I think it is the perfect age to start a family, by that time, I am already matured and have a stable job. Now, I am already 27 years old and turning 28 on July next year. By the time I'm getting married I am already 28! Perfect!

I was raised by my very conservative and religious family. Everytime I try to recall my childhood, all I can remember are fun and special times with them. My Mom and Dad gave me everything I want. They supported me all the way and I think that I have the best family in the whole wide world. They raised me well and I consider myself a "PAPA'S GIRL" =)

My Mom and Dad moved to the US when I was still in first year college. I was so scared because I am living in a dormitory near my school, though my brother picks me up every Friday night so I can spend my weekend at home. Still, I am not used to being alone.
I learned a lot in college. When I was in highschool, my Dad never let me commute. I can't even go the sari sari store alone. Since I live in a dormitory and I'm always with my friends, That's the time I learned how to ride a jeepney and It was fun. My Dad supported me all the way.

My Family in the Philippines. Brothers, Sisters, Neice, Nephew and our super Yaya Pipam(in red)

I met Paolo (my fiance) last October 2008 through a common friend. At first he was really shy, well to tell you honestly he is not much of a talker. My total opposite. I am very talkative. I need to voice out how my day was before going to bed. Well, it's true the opposite attracts. He became my fiance on December 5, 2008. And yes, We are getting married on December 5, 2013 on our fifth year anniversary.

Right now, we are in the middle or preparing for our wedding. We are not even half way of what needs to be done. But that's okay. As long as I have Pao, my friends, my wonderful family and especially God beside me. I know that The Lilac Bride will have her dream wedding.

San Antonio De Padua Quasi

Church hunting! I have been scouting on the internet to find the perfect wedding church in Tagaytay. The first thing that comes into your mind when I say wedding church in the south is Caleruega Church or The Transfiguration Chapel in Nasugbu, Batangas. But wait, did you know that there is another beautiful church that is perfect for rustic themed weddings aside from Caleruega Church? It is called San Antonio De Pauda Quasi located at Silang, Cavite. I am pretty sure that many of you haven't been to this church. You will be surprised with its rustic appeal. On the inside there is a long aisle for a very dramatic walk to the altar. It was my first time to see this church personally and all I can say is "WOW". And I am pretty sure that this church will be one of the favorite wedding churches in Tagaytay.

I wasn't able to get near the altar because as you can see below there is a wedding mass going on.

San Antonio De Padua Quasi for me is one of the best church i've ever seen.

We reserved our wedding date which is December 5, 2013 though I am still considering other churches. There is a reservation fee of 1000php for you to block your wedding date.

Not An Ordinary Bride

Hi everyone! =) My name is Diane and I am getting married on December 5 2013 at Tagaytay City, Philippines. This blog documents our step by step process in creating our perfect wedding. That includes scouting for churches, reception venues and finding the perfect wedding suppliers. I will also document every milestones from preparing, booking suppliers, the wedding jitters, our wedding day, our honeymoon and even our adventures after our wedding.
I don't want to be an ordinary bride with the usual white wedding gown. I want to wear something unique that all our guests will forever remember, that's why I came up with the title THE LILAC BRIDE. My sister designed my wedding gown which is the blog title picture that you are seeing now, and yes, my wedding gown is not white. I will be wearing a lilac wedding gown with muted gold accents.
I'm hoping that you'll enjoy reading my blog and learn some helpful tips.
